Last Travellers - Athena
Athena is of Romany Gypsy descent through her father, but her mother is an Irish Traveller. Athena follows Romany Gypsy customs and traditions. She travels all year round, from one place to another. She has 3 children, 2 little girls and an older son who is 9 years old. Children learn at home from their parents. Unfortunately, the children's father died about a year ago. Athena was badly affected by the loss of her husband, but many friends helped her in her grief, in everyday life or in the comfortable installation of the interior of the car. So they built a magical nook for them in the back of the truck. They are heated with a stove, there are 2 large beds, and a toilet has even been built. Next to Athena is a hen, she has a crow. In the past, she and her husband kept 2 horses and traveled and lived in Vardo. In fact, old Vardos were rebouldilded, then sold. They had income from that. The children clearly enjoy this free lifestyle, they have friends who live similarly on the road, and children can play with each other. This is Athena's heritage, which she wants to pass on to her children.
